For Fiscal 2016, Maharashtra contributed the majority of revenue from sales (62.57%), followed by Gujarat (18.83%), Telangana (10.15%), Karnataka (6.14%), Andhra Pradesh (1.03%), Madhya Pradesh (0.85%), and Chhattisgarh (0.43%).
The company operates and manages all its stores, predominantly using an ownership model (including long-term lease arrangements of over 30 years with buildings owned by the company) rather than a rental model. New stores are opened using a cluster approach, focusing on adjacencies, an efficient supply chain, and densely-populated residential areas, primarily targeting lower-middle, middle, and aspiring upper-middle-class consumers. The company operates distribution centers and packing centers as part of its supply chain to support the retail network. As of September 15, 2016, there were 21 distribution centers and six packing centers in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, and Karnataka.
